What is a Macro and what is QBinding?
A major part of RvR is to assist
a main tank so that everyone attacks the same target. This will ensure that
this Alb or Mid will die a painful death without time to get healed. It
would be very hard to always target the same enemy as your Main Assist (MA)
so Camelot has a way to "Macro" and "Qbind". Once you learn how to Macro and
Qbind you won't have to worry about switching through your task bars
constantly anymore. Macro's
To write any other macro you would: /macro <macro name> /<macro function> <macro text>. Example, if you want to tell someone to kill what you target in your group, your macro would look something like this /macro kill /g Kill the %t and anything you have targeted when you hit that macro would appear where the %t is. [Hint: do not use < > when writing your macro in game. Some common macro's that you may use are: /macro <player name> /target
<player name> Some items also have a built in
macro icon, you can [right-click] on an item and below the box that appears
will be one or two icons, you can [left-click] these icons and drag and drop
them on your quick bar, this allows you to /qbind these items. These icons
are useful when you want to use a /use property of an artifact or armor
piece, or even just for a water potion. Now, your taskbar has multiple levels. There are 10 slots per page and you have 10 pages per bar, with a maximum of 3 active bars. So lets say you put your macro on bar 3, slot 7, page 1. If you leave your macro like this you would have to click on that spot every time you wanted to assist Bangrus. It gets easier by Qbinding. What Qbinding does is it takes your macro you made (or any task bar slot) and makes it easier to use without clicking the actual macro. So your macro is on page 1, slot 7, bar 3, so lets make a qbind for it. Now you type the following; /qbind 1 7 3. **NOTE** the next key you hit will be the quick bind button for your macro. So in other words, do not hit any other buttons on your keyboard or mouse unless you want that to perform your task on page1, slot 7, bar 3 (your macro). Combining your Macro and Qbind So say you want to
make your macro NUMPAD #0. After you type in /qbind 1 7
3, hit enter and you will see the text
"the next key you hit will be bound to page 1, bar 3, slot 7.
Then you would hit NUMPAD #0, or whatever button you wish to bind. People
like to use F1-F12 since they are not used too much in game. Now just to test
your macro and qbind, hit your qbind key and see if you assist your MA. If
so then you successfully did a /macro, /qbind combo. Special thanks to Bangrus of Armyn ab Treanid for this section. |
